Scholarship Fund

A scholarship fund was established in 2002 with a $10,000 donation from the Richard G. Balke Children’s Rehabilitation Center and a matching $10,000 from the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center. The earnings currently generate a $1,000 scholarship. One award is made each year. The criteria are:

  • A merit based scholarship for a Physical Therapy or Occupational Therapy Student,
  • From the Amarillo or Panhandle area, attending classes at the TTUHSC Amarillo campus,
  • Has demonstrated an interest in serving children with special healthcare needs through actual community service, clinical rotations, etc.
  • Has expressed an interest in becoming a healthcare professional who provides services to children with special healthcare needs.
